As lockdown eases and the construction market starts to make a return, we bring you the next generation of HomeWorks, our signature residential building works policy, with new and improved covers added at no additional cost.
Early indications suggest homeowners are for the forseeable more likely to renovate and extend their existing homes rather than sell to upsize in these uncertain conditions.
Our HomeWorks policy provides all risks cover for the existing home, contents, contract works and liability exposures all under a single seamless policy.

In addition to several cover enhancements effective immediately, we have taken the opportunity to make the policy work better for you in the practical circumstances which can arise whilst having works carried out:
Cover now automatically extends 14 days beyond the policy end date – this gives the client time to source regular household cover or the contractor a little extra time to complete final snagging without needing to request a formal extension.
Where works are temporarily paused with the intention to resume, cover is maintained for up to 60 days without having to revert to a standard household or unoccupied homes policy.

We know that the subject of contract works particularly where there are building contracts involved can be daunting, so we've put together a handy Broker Guide to help explain why a policy like HomeWorks is necessary, cut through the jargon and included some case studies to bring some scenarios to life.
