
Andrew is the Chairman of the Somerville Group which he founded in 1982. He formed PUL in 2002 to meet the changing needs of the household insurance sector. Andrew's whole career has been conducted in the London insurance market and has been dedicated to excellence in all aspects of insurance distribution. |
With 39 years experience in the industry, Bob was appointed MD of Oak Underwriting in 2004 after 11 years with Chubb, latterly as Regional Manager Southern Region. Prior to this Bob held branch and regional management positions with Ace. Bob joined the PUL board in 2007. |
David started his insurance career in 1990 with United Friendly General moving to Hiscox and its Schemes Division in 1997. Prior to joining PUL in 2007, David was Hiscox Head of Underwriting for Mid Net Worth Household across both intermediary and direct channels. David joined the PUL board in 2008. |
Paul is a qualified accountant based in our Chipping Norton office. He originally joined Oak in 2002 as Accounts Manager and was appointed Director of Somerville Market Solutions Ltd in 2006 heading up the underwriting group finance function. Paul joined the PUL board in 2007. |
Toby’s insurance career began with the Royal in 1988, moving to the Economic and then to Hiscox for 11 years. Over that time he has gained extensive household and schemes underwriting experience. Toby joined PUL in 2007 and was promoted to Underwriting Manager of the company in 2008. Toby manages the underwriting function by setting and implementing controls for technical underwriting, master binder management, sub binder management and management information. |
Mahben started his underwriting career in 2003 at an underwriting agency dealing with the MNW direct market, moving onto the HNW broker market at H&L. He joined PUL in January 2008 from Hiscox, where he was an Underwriter in the Art & Private Client division. In addition to marketing and business analyst responsibilities, Mahben manages the efficient running of the underwriting operation across both Binder and Open Market divisions, and joined the PUL management team in 2010. |
David joined PUL as Claims Manager in 2009, and is responsible for ensuring our claims service meets the high standards we have set ourselves. David has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years, with his experience ranging from group claims management at Churchill, to advising insurance and public sector clients on technical training and competency issues in the UK and Europe. |
Steven has worked in the insurance industry for over 16 years and has a wealth of business development experience specialising in personal lines account management. He was appointed by Somerville Market Solutions Ltd in November 2009 to develop their HomeWorks product and its broker panel. Steven joined the PUL management team following the merger with SMS on 1st July 2010. Previously, Steven worked for a Lloyd’s broker leading the development of a household insurance contract in partnership with a Lloyd’s underwriting agency and has also spent 5 years at NIG in a broker development role. |
